Acting and Other Flying Lessons
by Gary Graham

How to be a Movie Star in 10 Simple Steps?

Well...not really. But it is a step-by-step manual on how to become a working actor in the Hollywood film industry.

After 25 years in the movie business, Gary Graham has compiled the book he wishes he'd had back when he got his first job in television.

Gary covers in insightful detail:

* How to get a job in the first place.

* What to do on a professional film set.

* How to get the most mileage for your acting efforts.

* How to really build a career and lift your acting
to the level of art.

And along the way, Gary shares with you countless anecdotes, witticisms and flat-out wild stories of working in the film trenches with movie stars. He'll share with you how he almost got punched out by an inebriated George C. Scott. How Ed Harris nearly killed himself on a motorcycle right in front of him. And how he quite possibly saved Tom Cruise's life.

And much, much more. It's all here -- everything you ever wanted to know about the film acting, but were afraid everybody would think you're a bozo to ask.

Vanna's Dance
by Maria Almudevar - van Santen

(
English and French versions available)

Maria Almudevar wrote ‘Vanna’s Dance’ after meeting Belgian film producer Eric vander Borght.  Vander Borght was working on a project about an eight-year-old girl from Cambodia named Vanna who lost her leg to a landmine while innocently feeding her father’s chickens.  ‘Vanna’s Dance’ depicts the young girl’s determination to overcome her injuries, and interweaves elements of Khmer mythology and legend.  In 2001, Almudevar sent the story to Heather Mills.  Mills  has been a  patron of Adopt-A-Minefield for more than five years.

Adopt-A-Minefield, a campaign of the United Nations Association of the U.S.A., works diligently to clear landmines and assist landmine survivors.  “I first learned about Maria Almudevar’s story because of my work with Adopt-A-Minefield,” says Heather Mills, who wrote the forward for the book.  “’Vanna’s Dance’ is both a tale of caution and of joy.  The great victory is that Vanna does not let the landmine take her spirit.  She works hard to be able to walk and to dance again.”

Part of the proceeds from each sale are being donated to Adopt-A-Minefield.

 (Available in English and French)
